A transcription of this document is found in Appendix I of Registrum magni sigilli (vol. 1). This appendix “consists of copies, more or less complete and more or less trustworthy, of charters engrossed on the lost rolls. Only those copies are admitted which there is sufficient reason to believe to be taken from the rolls; in the numerous cases in which a charter entered on a lost roll can be plausibly identified with an extant original charter it has been thought best to refer to such original in a footnote, stating where it is to be seen in MS. or in print, and giving its date, which often helps to fix approximately the date of the charters at present unknown which were recorded in the same roll.”
Usage
This text can be added to |notes= of {{Scottish document}} for any document whose transcription is found in Appendix I of Registrum magni sigilli (vol. 1).
Ideally, the name of the section of the appendix is included as a parameter. This would simply be name of the king and the number of the roll as it appears in the section header.
