This property plays a role in this wiki's database-like background structure. Clicking on the eye next to:
  • a page in the left-hand column will take you to a list of properties assigned to that page.
  • an item in the right-hand column will take you to a list of pages that have been assigned that value.
RDF logic:
  • Subject:      Pagenames of people
  • Predicate:  Has FamilySearch ID
  • Object:        FamilySearch Family Tree ID (type External identifier)(unique values only)The "SMW_DV_PVUC" feature is not supported or was disabled on this wiki.
Note: The ID is found on the person's page under their name, to the right of their birth & death dates. It can be copied simply by clicking on it.

The FamilySearch Family Tree should not be considered a reliable source for information about ancestors. Collaborative family trees such as this are notorious for perpetuating errors and for publishing unsubstantiated information. They rarely contain sufficient source citations to support the claims made. It's a great opportunity to see what other people are thinking, but should only be used as a starting point. Everything stated there should be confirmed using primary sources or, at the very least, secondary sources.

The FamilySearch website, however, provides free access to many digitized & indexed primary sources which can be attached to a person's entry in the tree. The tree, therefore, if a person has been researched properly, can be a very useful source of primary sources.

Please use links to the FamilySearch Family Tree to locate these primary sources, make corrections and add solid source citations so that other visitors to the tree find solid, sourced information there. They can also be used to update trees with new information gleaned through DNA testing.
