Description	1. Notarial instrument narrating that Michael Dauid, hereditary keeper of the bell of St. Medam, resigned the same to Sir John Ogilvy, kt., lord of Luthrethyne, superior of the said bell, with all its pertinents; which said Sir John gave to Lady Margaret of Ogilvy, Countess of Moray, his spouse, in liferent. Castle of Erale, 27 June 1447. Witnesses: Sir Walter Ogilvy, kt., lord of Desfurd, James Ogilvy, William of Cargyl, lord of Lasington, esquires, Duncan Stronach elder and Duncan, younger, his son, burgesses of Montros, Patrick of Fentoun and Edward Pedy. Instrument of sasine in favour of the said Lady Margaret of a house, at Luntrethin near the church, belonging to the said bell; sasine was given by James Ogilvy, brother of said Sir John, who displayed letters under the latter's seal conferring the grant, read them word for word and then shut the said Lady Margaret in the said house, all persons having been expelled therefrom, and gave her possession by delivery of earth and stone. 18 July 1447.
