- 8 August 1667 - At Balblair, it is contracted between David Ros, notary public, on the first part and George Stronach of Balblair for himself and on behalf of Margaret Stronach, his only lawful daughter, and Margaret Stronach herself, on the other part. David Ross and Margaret Stronach have agreed to marry properly (in the face of God) by 31 December 1667, under penalty of £100 Scots payable by either party to the other party in case of failzie. George Stronach for himself and on behalf of Micheal Stronach, his eldest lawful son and heir, as cautioner and debtor, to be bound and obliged, along with his heirs, executors etc, to pay to David Ross, his heirs, executors etc, in dowery £400 Scots, £200 of which by Martinmas 1668 and £200 by Martinmas 1669.[1]
