• March 16, 1789 - Indenture made by Henry Ross of Guilford County & State of North Carolina of the one part and Enoch Harland of the County & state aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that Henry Ross bargained and sold unto the said Enoch Harland all that tract piece & parcel of land lying in the county of Rowan & state of North Carolina on both sides of the third fork of Abbots Creek containing the whole 364 acres granted to John Smith from the State of North Carolina bearing the date 19th day of Nov in the year 1784 and by the said John Smith made over to the said Henry Ross by a deed bearing the date the 18th day of Feb in the year 1785. Witnessed by John Mendenhall and Nathan Harlan.
