| Description | Charter by Eufame, Countess of Rosse, in her pure and simple widowhood, granting and confirming to her dearest cousin Hugh de Monro, for his faithful and laudable service rendered and to be rendered in his time, the whole davach of land of Contulich and le 'Fortyr' of Ardach, and their pertinents: to be held by said Hugh, his heirs and assignees, in fee and heritage forever of said Eufame and her heirs, in woods, plains, etc, malt-kilns and mills, with hunting, hawking, and fishings, and with liege-men and neyfs ('nativis'), and all and sundry commodities, etc, as freely as any other land granted within the Kingdom of Scotland by any earl or baron; said Hugh and his heirs rendering to the granter and her heirs yearly a pair of white gloves or 2 pennies of silver at Whitsunday upon the soil, if asked, in name of blench-farm, for all other service, exaction or secular demand, required from said lands, and doing forensic service to the King relative to said davach of Contulich, with pertinents; with clause of warrandice. Witnesses, Alexander Stewart, Lord of Badenach, Mr William de Dyngvale, dean of Ross, Adam de Wrcharde, sheriff of Crumbachy, Alexander de Chisholme, Thomas de Foderynhay and Robert de Appiltona. The granter's seal was appended at Dyngvale.
