| Title | Notarial Instrument under the hand of Beanus Paterson, notary public, narrating that there compeared in presence of Sir John de Yle, Earl of Ross, and Lord of the Isles, and the said notary and certain witnesses, Sir Gilbert McBean (Beani), a priest of the diocese of Moray, as procurator for Malcolm McInthosych [McIntosh], Lord of Moye [Moy] and of Keppach [Keppoch], and their pertinents, within the lordship of Lochabera [Lochaber], and perpetual Steward of the lands of the said lordship, and desired that these lands and office, which had been recognosced by the said Earl, might be wadset to the said Malcolm McInthosych; offering as cautioners Sir Torkell McLoyd [McLeod] of Leows [Lewis], and Alexander McAyne [McIan] of Ardnamurchan, who undertook to answer for the same before James, King of Scots, or any other unsuspect judge; but that the said Earl refused to grant what they desired. |
