Translation
And for this reason, walking, and all manner of people, of our countries, can more safely, and more peacefully, come and go, and goods move, both by land and by boat;
We.... Kings and dukes before our people, have spoken and agreed, under this great council and deliberation of our greatest friends, a marriage, to be made between our children, for the benefit of us, and of them, & from all our countries;
This is to know, of .... Edward ainsne son of us .... Roy above said, & of Marguerite, daughter of ours .... duke above nome;
If we, King said above, have no cosyn the .... duke before nome prommiz & in convention, by faith & by sarement, touched the seintes gospels, by lawal convenience & solemn stipilacion that we will make, procure, & pursue that, within the year, that Edward our ditz fitz will have come of age to marry, will take to his wife and wife damsel Marguerete, daughter of our said cosyn the .... duke.
And we, dukes of Brabant above name, also have in agreement, in this same unsaid manner, to the King of our name, that we will assure, procure, and pursue that Marguerete, our daughter before said, will take, within the time of the said said, lawful mary & hope for the above.... Edward.
We have also agreed, we Kings before us, that we will give and assign, for the said marriage, to the said damoiselle Marguerete, in the name of a doary, and for a doaire, in our country of England, just as large a doaire, as It was and is assigned to our dearest and beloved lady, Madame Ysabel, Queen of England.
Still we agree, we Roiz before nomez, that if something were to happen, that of no said thread.... Edward, and of the dictation of damoisele Marguerete, heirs marles nashist; and our son Edward before us passed away in this century, we confirmed and pursued that the heirs of the said Edward would inherit our kingdom, and our lordships, by the consent of the baroons, the nobles, and the good cities, of our country; except what it says is appropriate to provide for our other children.
And, if it were to happen that Edwarde died of this century, without his marriage, and left a daughter or daughters of his body, we, or no heir, would fail, seriously held to her, or to 'they have to provide for and make an assignment, in such a manner, that it belongs and is assigned to the daughters of the King.

Have all coms, missions, expenses, & interests, that he says dux, if heir or successorour, porroit, or could have had, or sustained by continuing the said marriage, or in the acquisition of ycely, jeskes to the sum of one hundred thousand pounds of the currency before named;
Of what sum of money li ten dux, if heir or successor, must, or becomes, be created by their simple word, without other proof to be made.
And for all these sums of money, lands, expenses, damages, missions, and this interest, to be returned, and to be paid to the said duke, no cosyn, to his heires or his successors, in these cases before ditz, we, Kings before you, have put, constituted & established for us, for our son, & for our heirs, pleges, rendeures, & principal debts,

Therefore, if it were the case that I do not believe that we, or our son, or our father or successor, fail to fulfill what we have said, the said party and principal debtor will be held liable, therefore. the three months, after that we, noz ditz filz, or no heir, seriemes deaccomplishment ditz convens, aunz other seme to do, by our times & suremenz, to enter, in our own persons, or chescunes of 'yaulz to send, that is to say, four horsemen and four horses, and each of the said bannerers two horsemen, in similar manner, in the said city of Malines, who will stay in the said city of Malynes, it their same, and their horses belonging to eaulz, solonc their estaz, without james leaving the place until full satisfaction will be made to the said duke no cosyn, or to his heirs, of all the sums of money said above
By the same token that, if any of our said pleiges, who came into the said city of Mechelen, for the dictated pleigery, or cilz, or cil, who sent, or sent would be there, or would be, from there, or by eulz, trespassast, ou trespassisent, li ditz pleiges, ou pleige, ou lour heir, should, or should, return, within the said city of Malines, or return there in the manner above dictated, within three months after the death of cely, or of those, who would die or would be, without any other sermon or amonestion to be made.
And we, the above-mentioned King, have also agreed, in a sambling manner, as said is, that in the above-mentioned cases, we will send eight noble chivalers, for us, in the said city of Mechelen, to lie down, to demolish, and to hold a convention, in seeming manner, that deseure is said & motto, of our snows before name.

And we, the kings before you, have requested and requested our companion la Roigne, and our said son Edward, who, in sign of their consent and assent, will learn their seals from these present letters.
And we, Phelippe, by the grace of GOD, Queen of England, Lady of Ireland, & Duke of Aquitaine; & we, Edward, ainsnes sons of the aboveditz Roy & Royngne Phelippe, dux of Cornuaille, & tales of Cestres; has requested it to be our dear Lord the King before said, in sign of our consent and assent, having appended to these present letters our saiaulz.
Yet we, the above-mentioned Kings, requested and requested our above-mentioned pleiges, that he, in testimony of the things above-said, and in approving their obligation, would also like to place their seal on these present letters.
