| Description | In [AD 1296, the 9th indiction], on July 28th, at [Elgin in Moray]; there being present the lords Walter de Beauchamp, Thomas Bicknor, and John Merk, knights, called and summoned as witnesses, and the notary; the lord John de Saint-Michel, the lord Robert de Normanville, the lord Donald son of Can, and the lord Adam Gordon, knights, William called Wiseman, John de Montfort, Alexander of Hatley, James son of Godfrey de Ros the elder, Reginald de Saint-Michel, clerk, James son of Godfrey de Ros the younger, Robert de Tremblay, Audomer Comyn, William de Lascelles, and Gilbert of Southwick, came to the faith and will of the king of England; and renounced any alliances etc. entered into with the king of the French; and performed fealty to the king of England, etc. |
