- “James Ross (b.1698), of Scottish lineage, emigrated from Ireland to Virginia in 1724, and married Catherine McCallough in 1730. They settled in North Carolina, and later moved to South Carolina. Some descendants moved to Tennessee, Arkansas, and Texas.
