In the year 1370, on the Feast of St. Peter's Chair, David Bruce, king of Scotland, died at Edinburgh Castle, and was
buried in the monastery of Holyrood. He reigned forty-eight[1] years, and had no children. His nephew, Robert Stewart, who was then of age, succeeded him by right of inheritance, and was enthroned and crowned at Scone, that same year, on Lady Day. In the year 1373 died the lady Bridget of Sweden, etc.[2]
