  • 14 September 1704 - Bond of relief granted by Andrew Ross writer in Edinburgh to Alexander McLeod writer there the said Elizabeth's father declaring that the said Alexander McLeod & he are bound to pay to Dame Mary Hope Spouse to Thomas Moncrief of that Ilk in liferent of Captain Thomas Young her sone in fee the sume of one thousand poinds Scotts & @ rent from the term of Lambas 1704 & penalty contained in their bond dated the 11th of September 1704 that the said whole sume was borrowed for the use & behoof of the said Andrew Ross & therefor he obliges himself & his heirs by the said back bond to free relieve & sheathless keep the said Alexander McLeod & his heirs of the said whole sume @ rent & expenses contained in the said bond[1]

  • 1709 - Decreet obtained before the Lords of Councill & SEssions at the Instance of George McLeod Some to the said Deceased Alexander McLeod & his tutors agr the David Ross of Balblair the said Andrewes father proceeding upon the said Davids promise to pay & relieve the said Alexander McLeod & his sone & dr of the half of the above debt contained in his sones back bond[1]

  • 30 May 1723 - Decreet obtained before the Lords of Councill & Sessions at the Instance of Elizabeth McLeod Executrix confirmed to her said father & brother and Patrick Douglas her husband for his Interest against Andrew Ross now of Balblair sone & aparent heir to the said Andrew Ross & oye and apparent to the said David Ross of Balblair for the above Sume of £500 as the half of the back bond & @ rent & penalty contained in the above Decreet against his said grandfather[1]
