• 10 May 1333 - Several charters are made on this date by Hugh, earl of Ross, to Hugh Ross, his son. Each lists William Ross as granter's son and heir. This William was the last earl of Ross of this line. His brother Hugh of Rarichie was the 1st of the cadet branch of Balnagown. This is also the first we see of this family using Ross as a surname.
