(i) Charter by Walter Lesly, Lord of Ross, to Hugh Ross of Kynfaunis, of lands of Raa and Dunbethe, in sheriffdom of Caithness; formerly belonging to Andrew Berclay. Witnesses: Alexander, bishop of Ross, Patrick, abbot of Ferne, Mr William Dyngvale, dean of Ross, Sir John Sutherlande, Sir Robert Innes, Sir Richard Comyne, kts., William Ross, Nicholas Sutherlande, Adam Urcharde, Alexander Murray, Hugh Munro. At Tayne in Ross, the day following the feast of St. Catherine the Virgin, 1380, (26 November). (ii) Indenture between John Dunbar, earl of Moray, and Hugh Ross, laird of half the lands of Kynfaunis, whereby said Hugh resigns to said John his lands in earldom of Caithness with the castle of Dunbeth. At Edinburgh, 30 December 1387. (iii) Special retour in favour of Robert Ross, as heir of deceased Hugh Ross, his father, in lordships of Dunbethe and Raa in earldom of Caithness.
